Yom Ha’Atzmaut – Israel at ’64′!

ISAIAH 66:8  “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children…”

Read and Study the special thanksgiving “Hallel” (Paslm 113-118) which Israelis added to their prayer offerings for the milestone reached this year: 64 years of statehood.

As Israel has celebrated her 64th birthday the past week, we have been called to uphold the Nation  by our intercession in prayer, beseeching the God of Israel, and praying for His continued protection for the whole nation. We praise God for the celebrations going virutally without incident – some skirmishes, and the accident while building a scaffold for the celebration in which one 20 yr. old IDF female offficer helping was killed and about 20 others injured. Please pray for the family of the soldier and healing and restoration of the injured.

YOM HAZIKARON – Independence Day was also celebrated during this time as Israel remembers Israeli soldiers and citizens who were killed in defending the State of Israel. The celebration included prayers, songs, poems and other tributes as a reminder of the individuals who lost their lives. In the Opening Ceremony Reuven Rivlin states, “Even today we wake up to find our enemies seeking our destruction…Even today, our cities and land are continually threatened by terror… Even today, farmers working the land face the danger of death from snipers, while boys and girls must flee to bomb shelters fearing rockets and missiles.”

On the heels of these celebrations pray that the Lord would pour out His Spirit upon Israel – expecially upon the young people so that His works can be declared to future generations.

Please intercede for Christians and believers who work and serve the Lord in Israel today. Pray for protection, strength and spiritual sensitivity to the entire situation that God will allow in His plans for Israel and the Nations.

Pray faithfully for Israel to be strong – strong as an army, put into place to defend the nation.

Pray for Israel’s leaders in the military armed forces to study how God used Biblical circumstances of long ago to deter their enemies, scare tactics and carefully planned missions.

Always intercede for the beloved Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who must meet with his Chiefs of Staff, national security advisers, national intelligence, security, police and border guards in sensitive strategic negotiations. Always pray the Scriptures over this important leader for Israel at this time, but to always proclaim God is the True Leader of Israel!  Remember Netanyahu and his family as they are finishing Shiva. 7 days of mourning for his beloved 102 year old father. Beseech the Lord to remind Netanyahu of strength and wisdom he obviously had always drawn from his father and to draw on that strength in future decisions.

Also, there is talk of the possibility of new elections in Israel: Pray if these early elections are not of the Lord’s will, they will not happen. Ask the Lord to intervene miraculously. Pray that Netanyahu not be driven by circumstances or political reasons, but by what is best for the country. “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9   Also, The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Proverbs 21:1

Please pray that if Israel must make a decision “on their own” without other nations…that they make it “WITH GOD” and do as He leads them.

Thank God for the abundant rainfall the Land has experienced. Again, a direct answer to our prayers! Because of this we see the desert blooming like a rose (Isaiah 35) abundant in foribunda and greenery throughout the nation. Rain is the image of the Holy Spirit’s refreshing, washing the Land as the Word of God washes our minds and refreshes us, drawing us closer and more intimately to Him, His people, and His beloved nation, Israel.

“I will belss those who bless you (who confer prosperity or happiness upon you) and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed (and by you they will bless themselves). Genesis 12:3 AMP  [ref. Galatians 3:8]

“Not to us, O Lord, not to us but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy and loving kindness and for the sake of Your truth and faithfulness.”  Psame 115:1
